Someone is looking for a therapist right now. Is your website making it easy for them to choose you?

You could be exactly the therapist someone needs. But if your website doesn’t communicate that clearly, they may never know it.

Your website can do more than tell people you exist. It can help prospective patients and referring professionals recognize what makes you the right fit — and make it easy for them to stop searching and contact you.

For therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other mental health professionals in private practice.

FROM A REFERRAL SOURCE’S PERSPECTIVE

You might be missing referrals and not even know it.

As a psychologist in private practice, I’m often helping patients find other therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists or prescribers. And I’ve run into the same frustrating problem over and over again.

I find a potential referral, visit their website, and struggle to find the information I need to determine whether they’re a good fit.

Sometimes I can’t tell who they work with, what concerns they treat, where they’re located, or what working with them might actually be like. I’ve even had therapists respond directly to referral requests saying they were available — only for me to visit their website and still struggle to find the basic information I needed.

On one occasion, I couldn’t even find the therapist’s name.

These may be excellent clinicians. But if I can’t quickly understand their practice well enough to confidently refer a patient, I may need to keep looking.

And prospective patients are doing their own version of that research before they reach out.

A great clinician can still be hard to refer to if their website leaves too many questions unanswered.

BEFORE YOU BLAME THE MARKET

Is the problem really that there are too many therapists?

When inquiries slow down, it’s easy to assume there simply aren’t enough patients to go around — especially if you practice in an area with a lot of providers.

But even in areas with a lot of therapists, people are still looking for mental health care — and many still haven’t found the care they need.

In some areas, a little more work can help you stand out and make it easy for the right people to find you, understand what you offer, and recognize when you might be a good fit.

For telehealth practices, your potential patients may not even live in your immediate city or community.

Frequently Asked Questions

A few details you may want to know before purchasing your assessment.

Is this assessment only for therapists? +
No. The assessment is designed for mental health professionals in private practice.

That can include psychologists whose practices focus on psychological or neuropsychological assessment rather than therapy, as well as prescribing professionals such as psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and prescribing psychologists.

If you’re trying to attract the right people to your practice — and make it easier for referring professionals to recognize when you may be the right fit — this website assessment can help.
How long will it take to receive my assessment? +
Your personalized assessment will typically be delivered within 7 - 14 business days after both your payment and completed questionnaire are received.
What will you look at during the assessment? +
I’ll look broadly at how effectively your website communicates your practice, including clarity and messaging, patient fit and differentiation, trust and professionalism, usability, referral readiness, and key opportunities for improvement.

I’ll also consider the information you provide about your practice and goals so the feedback is specific to you rather than generic website advice.
Does the assessment include SEO, accessibility, or compliance review? +
This assessment includes a practical review of how your website communicates your practice, functions for visitors, and supports prospective patients and referral sources.

I may point out SEO, accessibility, privacy, or other technical concerns that I notice during my review and recommend changes when they fall within the scope of the assessment.

If I notice something that would benefit from more specialized evaluation, I may recommend that you consult a specialist with expertise in that particular area.

If you’re specifically looking for comprehensive technical SEO or keyword/ranking analysis, analytics or Search Console work, a formal accessibility audit, or legal/HIPAA compliance review, this assessment is not designed to provide that level of specialized evaluation.
Can I ask questions after I receive my assessment? +
Yes. You may ask up to two brief clarification questions by email within 14 calendar days after your assessment is delivered.

These are intended to clarify the feedback you received rather than provide a new evaluation, additional copywriting, implementation, or ongoing consultation.
Will this help me get more patients or referrals? +
The goal of the assessment is to identify ways your website can better communicate your practice, support the patient and referral experience, and make it easier for the right people to understand and contact you.

A clear, useful online presence can increase the likelihood that prospective patients and referral sources recognize you as a potential fit and take the next step. Improvements to your website can also support your broader online visibility over time.

But website performance depends on many factors, and changes don’t always produce immediate results. I can’t guarantee increases in inquiries, referrals, website traffic, search rankings, or practice growth.
What if I don’t have a website yet? +
This assessment is designed for an existing website. If you’re starting from scratch or want more hands-on help planning or building your website, a consultation or other 1:1 support may be a better fit.

Contact me about 1:1 support →
What is the cancellation or refund policy? +
You may request a full refund before I begin working on your assessment. Once work has begun, purchases are generally nonrefundable because the service is personalized to your practice, subject to applicable law.

If I’m unable to complete your assessment, you’ll receive a full refund.
